- Fill out the introductory survey. You don’t have to put your name on the sheet. While I won’t know which sheet you turned in, I will note whether you have turned in a sheet.
- Install the software needed for this course on your computer.
- Get acquainted (play around) with the RUR-PLE software.
- If you click the “Robot: Code and Learn” tab at the top of the window, you should see a robot (the robot’s name is Reeborg) in the corner of an arena.
- If you click somewhere inside the arena, you can control Reeborg using your arrow keys.
- Even though Reeborg only accepts the up arrow key and the left arrow key, can you make him make a right turn? Can you make him circle both clockwise and counter-clockwise?
- What happens if you try to make Reeborg move outside of his arena?
- These are some basic ideas to help you get acquainted with the software. You don’t have to turn anything in, but just make sure you understand how to control Reeborg before next class.
